John Davies is Managing Director and Global Head of Exchange Traded Products at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI). He also serves as President of S&P DJI Netherlands BV.

John leads the global effort for ETF licensing and plays a key role in engaging with ETF stakeholders such as exchanges, regulators, industry associations, and the media, developing the breadth and depth of S&P DJI’s indices so that they may serve as benchmarks for the ETF market. He also manages the relationships between S&P DJI and its ETF partners globally. Building on S&P DJI’s traditional index activities, John works closely with the institutional markets to identify and consolidate new business and product opportunities for benchmarking and linking of S&P DJI’s indices to investment vehicles and derivative products.

Prior to his current position, John’s responsibility at S&P DJI was as Senior Director, Client Coverage for the EMEA region, where he played a key role in marketing and promoting the adoption of S&P DJI indices to professional money managers, institutional investors, their investment consultants, and existing investment clients. Prior to joining Standard & Poor’s, John was head of European Relationship Management at FTSE, where he was responsible for increasing the use of FTSE global benchmarks within the European Government and Corporate Pension Funds arena, as well as strengthening FTSE’s relationship with investment consultants. Before joining FTSE, John was head of the Performance and Analytics Group at Schroder Investment Management.
